Our story

Built by a father and son,for every student who's ever been stuck

Where it started

Saturday morning, long before I was made.

“I grew up in a community that set up its own Saturday schools, because it refused to let its children be written off.

Those Saturday mornings were where people expected us to succeed. Examzi carries that same belief to every student, whoever and wherever they are.”

Stephen Watson, co-founder and CEO

Years later

Years later, Stephen worked in places like this.

“I've spent my career working with young people the system had given up on. I've seen what changes when someone finally takes the time to explain.”

Ten o'clock at night

Ten o'clock at night. Stuck.

“I know what it's like to be stuck on a question at ten o'clock at night with nobody to talk it through with.”

Zac Watson, co-founder
That's where I come in.

“Every young person deserves someone to explain it, without judgment and without the cost of a tutor. So at 16, I built Examzi.”

Zac Watson, co-founder

Who stands behind it

Zac builds the technology. Experienced adults make sure it's safe, accurate and right for young people.

These are the people who look after me.
  • Stephen Watson, co-founder and CEO, is accountable for Examzi. He has years of experience in education.

  • Safe by design: microphone access only with consent, no saved lesson audio, no chat with strangers and no ads.

  • Your data is protected: it is held in Europe, anonymized before it reaches the AI, and never used to train AI models.

What we believe

Ask me ten times. I won't sigh.
  • Every student deserves a tutor,

not just the ones whose families can afford one.

  • Asking for help should never feel embarrassing.

Ask the same question ten times; nobody sighs.

  • Technology should support teachers, not replace them.

  • Be honest about AI.

Ace always tells you it's AI.

Shall we start?
